The following factors could affect Italian markets on Wednesday.

    POLITICS
    Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's party has filed a
new proposal to protect borrowers if they fall behind in
repaying their bank debt, another move that investors said
stoked risks for the country's 307 billion euro bad loan market.
    
    ECONOMY
    ISTAT releases 2021/2023 research and development data in
Italy (0800 GMT).
    
    COMPANIES
    MEDIOBANCA  MDBI.MI 
    The Italian bank's board convenes to approve the slate of
nominees that will be submitted to shareholders for its renewal.
    
    PIRELLI  PIRC.MI 
    The board of investor Camfin has renewed an authorization to
buy an additional stake in the tyre maker for up to 5% of the
share capital. 
    
    JUVENTUS  JUVE.MI 
    The board meeting to approve the club's full-year results,
which was scheduled for the Sept. 18-22 time frame, has been
postponed to between Oct. 2 and Oct. 6. 
     
    OVS  OVS.MI 
    Board meeting on H1 results (closed on July 31).
    
    IPO - BANCA PROGETTO
    The Italian challenger bank is aiming to list on the Milan
stock exchange by the first quarter of next year, two sources
close to the matter said on Tuesday.
