Australia's Pacific Nickel hits 1-1/2-month high on Solomon Islands project update

** Shares of Pacific Nickel Mines Ltd  PNM.AX  jump as much
as 13.4% to A$0.093, hitting their highest since Nov 26 
    ** The nickel explorer says mining from the test pits is
expected to start by the end of this week at the Kolosori nickel
project in Solomon Islands  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nASX6nGh7K
    ** The early works programme is to help establish a site
base at Kolosori for the main construction programme targeted
for April/May to conduct mining operations 
    ** Stock head for its sharpest gain since Dec 9
