Thai bourse operator to list 28 foreign depository receipts as investors seek global exposure
Thai bourse operator to list 28 foreign depository receipts as investors seek global exposure Sept 8 (Reuters) - The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) said on Tuesday it would list 28 new depositary receipts linked to stocks and ETFs from Asia, the U.S. and Europe, as the bourse races to match its Asian rivals in giving local investors easier access to global blue chips.
Here are more details:
The new series spans "future-oriented" industry sectors, including semiconductors, electronics, artificial intelligence, clean energy, infrastructure, and aerospace, SET said.
Trading in the new instruments, issued by state-controlled lender Krung Thai Bank KTB.BK, will commence on Wednesday.
The Asia-based names to be introduced include Chinese chip-equipment maker Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment Inc 688012.SS and Hua Hong Grace Semiconductor 688347.SS.
The lineup also includes Nasdaq and NYSE heavyweights Dell DELL.N, Intel INTC.O and Palantir PLTR.O, alongside Europe's Airbus AIR.PA.
The push mirrors a broader trend across regional exchanges seeking to offer local investors easier access to global blue-chip stocks. In July, the Singapore Exchange also said it would introduce depositary receipts for Elon Musk's SpaceX SPCX.O, ride-hailing firm Grab GRAB.O, and tech conglomerate Sea SE.N.
The move comes just days after the bourse announced it would revise its listing criteria to attract new economy and foreign companies.
