MAG Silver shares rise after Pan American Silver's deal to acquire co

** Shares of mining company MAG Silver Corp MAG.TO rise 7.3% to C$25.30

** Canadian miner Pan American Silver PAAS.TO said late on Sunday that it will acquire MAG for about $2.1 billion

** Deal will give PAAS access to a 44% interest that MAG has in the tier-one Juanicipio silver mine in Mexico

** Transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2025

** PAAS shares down 15.4% at C$32.19

** Including sessions moves, MAG up 21.4% and PAAS up 4.1% YTD
