Dayforce jumps on report that Thomas Bravo is in talks to buy firm

** Shares of HR management software firm Dayforce DAY.N surge 21% to $63.99 premarket

** PE firm Thoma Bravo in talks to acquire Dayforce, Bloomberg News reported on Sunday

** Reuters was unable to confirm the report; Dayforce and Thoma Bravo did not respond to requests for comment

** Dayforce market cap at $8.44 billion as of Friday's close, according to LSEG data

** We would not be surprised if DAY chose to sell given the lack of appreciation for the stock in the public markets - Jefferies

** DAY trades at nearly 20x profit estimates vs about 24x for Workday WDAY.O, 27x for Automatic Data Processing ADP.O and 22x for Paycom Software PAYC.N

** Up to last close, stock fell about 27% this year
