UK's Centamin down as quarterly gold production weakens

** Shares of gold miner Centamin  CEY.L  down 4.7% at 123.59

    ** Stock among top loser in FTSE midcap index  .FTMC  
    ** Co reports Q1 gold production of 104,821 ounces, compared
with 105,875 ounces in the prior year 
    ** "Gold production in 1Q came in slightly below
expectations as a result of mine planning and maintenance work
during the quarter," Peel Hunt says
    ** Expects production rates to increase for balance of the
year, reaffirms 2024 production and cost outlook range
    ** As of last close, Centamin stock up 24.3% in 12 months
