** Stock hits highest level since August 7
** Investment manager reaches settlement with Pengana Capital Group PCG.AX and Pengana Capital Ltd (PCL)
** Says settlement resolves Supreme Court proceedings commenced by PCL and provides a pathway for PCG's Takeovers Panel application to be ended
** More than 476,000 shares change hands, 3.9 times the 30-day average
** Stock down 3.5% YTD, including the day's moves
