UK Stocks-Factors to watch on October 2 (updated)

Adds new items, updates futures

Oct 2 - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.29%.

* THAMES WATER: The senior creditors of Thames WaterKMBWTU.UL aiming to lead a turnaround of the company presented their plan to fix its finances and stop the utility being nationalised, proposing a 7.5 billion pound ($10 billion) debt write-off.

*TESCO: Tesco TSCO.L,raised its full-year profit forecast, saying it benefited from an unusually hot summer and won market share from rivals; CEO Ken Murphy said UK consumers are worried about the upcoming government budget.

* PENNON GROUP: British water utility Pennon Group PNN.L named Affinity Water CEO Keith Haslett as its new CEO.

   * BP: BP BP.L Chair Albert Manifold told employees that the group's portfolio was "overly complex" and it needed to execute its strategy of shifting focus back to oil and gas faster, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters.

   * APPLE: The British government has issued a new order to Apple AAPL.O to create a backdoor into its cloud storage service, targeting only British users' data, the Financial Times reported.

* 3I GROUP: 3i Group III.L is considering divesting its assets, including French information technology maintenance provider Evernex, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

* SHAWBROOK: British lender Shawbrook is preparing to kick off its initial public offering within days, the Financial Times reported.

* COMMODITIES: Oil prices rose on potential tighter sanctions on Russian crude, copper prices climbed, buoyed by supply concerns in Chile and Indonesia, and gold prices held steady, helped by expectations of further U.S. rate cuts and political uncertainty.

* EX-DIVS: Smith & Nephew SN.L, Weir Group WEIR.L and F&C Investment Trust FCIT.L will trade without entitlement to their latest dividend pay-out on Thursday. .L/XD
