PepsiCo will invest $1 billion in Colombia over next five years, president says By Nelson Bocanegra
BOGOTA, Sept 27 (Reuters) - PepsiCo PEP.O will invest $1 billion in Colombia over the next five years, the South American nation's President Abelardo De La Espriella said on Sunday.
The investments will be aimed at expanding production, modernizing operations and strengthening distribution in the country, the president added.
“Confidence is demonstrated through investment. This commitment will boost employment, support more than 2,000 farmers and strengthen Colombia’s small shopkeepers,” De La Espriella wrote on X.
The announcement follows a weeklong visit to New York by Colombian Vice President José Manuel Restrepo and the country’s economic team, during which they met with more than 100 corporate and capital markets investors.
