Oct 8 (Reuters) - US stocks edged lower on Thursday as soaring oil prices and Treasury yields near multi-year highs stoked inflation worries on the cusp of a critical earnings season expected to test recent market gains. .N
     
At  1130 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.40% at 50,974.67.The S&P 500 .SPX was down 0.36% at 7,774.07, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was down 0.53% at 27,393.59.
