Jan 16 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is
seen opening higher on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.4%.
* TAYLOR WIMPEY: Taylor Wimpey TW.L said it was well
placed to build more homes in 2025 than last year, while
flagging increased build cost pressure as the British housing
sector navigates affordability and broader economic concerns.
* WHITBREAD: Premier Inn owner Whitbread WTB.L
reported a modest increase in its total accommodation sales in
the UK for a six-week period, and reaffirmed its full-year 2025
forecast, supported by strong sales in its German market.
* PEARSON: British education company Pearson PSON.L
said its 2024 operating profit would rise by about 10% after
demand for its assessments, qualifications and English language
learning courses helped sales grow by 3% in the year.
* ANTOFAGASTA: Antofagasta ANTO.L reported a modest 1%
rise in its 2024 copper production to 664,000 metric tons, below
its guidance.
* PETERSHILL PARTNERS: British investment group Petershill
Partners PHLL.L said it sold its majority stake in venture
capital firm General Catalyst for $726 million.
* CAB PAYMENTS: British money transfer group CAB
Payments CABP.L said it would cut about 20% of its jobs as it
aims to slash costs.
* UK ECONOMY: Britain's economic output rose for the first
time in three months in November but by less than expected,
edging up by 0.1% from October, National Statistics data showed.
* RACHEL REEVES: Britain's finance minister Rachel
Reeves said she would
press
regulators on what more her government can do to deliver
growth.
* OIL: Oil prices gained for a second session.
* EX-DIVS: Compass Group CPG.L and Diploma DPLM.L will
trade without entitlement to their latest dividend pay-outs on
Thursday.
