Description: U.S. stock index futures edged lower on Wednesday after warnings
of a looming recession from major Wall Street bankers offset optimism around
the easing of China's strict zero-COVID rules. There was an important win for
the Democrats in Georgia overnight. Raphael Warnock won re-election to the
U.S. Senate in a hard-fought runoff. Meanwhile in another blow to presidential
contender Donald Trump, the Trump Organisation has been found guilty of tax
crimes with a jury convicting them on all counts. U.S. lawmakers have declined
to add an extension to a defense bill that would impose a new safety standard
for modern cockpit alerts for two new versions of Boeing's 737 MAX aircraft.
