BUZZ-Cogent rises as US FDA accepts marketing application for cancer drug ** Shares of drug developer Cogent Biosciences COGT.O rise 3.5% to $35.73 premarket
** Co says the U.S. FDA has accepted its marketing application for its experimental cancer drug bezuclastinib, in combination with Pfizer's PFE.N approved cancer drug sunitinib
** Says the combination aims to treat patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors, or GIST, a type of cancer that starts in the digestive tract
** FDA granted the application a Priority Review voucher and set a target decision date of Nov. 30, 2026 - COGT
** In a late-stage trial, patients on the combination lived 16.5 months without their disease worsening, versus 9.2 months for those on sunitinib alone - COGT
** Co says FDA does not currently plan to hold an advisory committee meeting and has not identified any potential review issues
** As of last close, COGT down 2.8% YTD
