POLITICS
The U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran which sparked the latest Middle East crisis were clearly in breach of international law, Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said on Thursday.

The Italian utility said on Thursday that QatarEnergy had informed it that it would not be able to fulfil its contractual obligations concerning five liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo deliveries scheduled to arrive in early April.

The ECB has sent a letter to Monte dei Paschi’s board urging a thorough review of the "independence of mind" of all incoming directors and committee members, daily la Repubblica reported on Friday. The regulator also called for the next CEO to have a significant banking experience, the newspaper added, after the board voted on Wednesday to exclude CEO Luigi Lovaglio from seeking a new mandate.
Minority shareholder Giorgio Girondi is considering presenting a separate list of candidates for the board renewal, several newspapers reported on Friday, with some saying it could include Lovaglio.

The manufacturer of Vespa scooters reported on Thursday a 49% drop in its 2025 net profit to 34 million euros ($39 million), which was nevertheless above a company-provided analysts' consensus of 32 million euros.

OneEquity Partners, through its vehicle company OEP Danzig BidCo, announced on Thursday a mandatory takeover offer on the remaining 40% of Digital Value at 29 euros per share, aiming to delist the tech company after buying almost 60% of its capital for 175 million euros.

Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, heir of late Italian billionaire Leonardo Del Vecchio, said in an interview with the Financial Times on Friday he was "close to agreeing a price" with siblings Luca and Paola to buy their stakes in the family holding company Delfin, the largest investor in EssilorLuxottica ESLX.PA and Monte dei Paschi di Siena. The transaction would triple Leonardo Maria's holding in Delfin to 37.5%, making him the top shareholder.
