    SAM ALTMAN'S WORLDCOIN CRYPTOCURRENCY SURGES AFTER SORA
LAUNCH
     A digital coin linked to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's crypto
project Worldcoin, surged after OpenAI introduced a software
called Sora last week that can generate minute-long videos based
on text prompts.
    The token has jumped 134% since Feb 15 to as much as $7.95,
the highest level in the token's seven months of existence,
according to data and analytics firm CoinGecko. It was last down
12.3% at $6.39.
    Sora created a buzz online, more than a year after OpenAI's
launch of the ChatGPT chatbot fueled an AI boom.
    Shares of Chinese AI companies  .CSI931071  got a boost this
week on excitement generated by Sora.  .SS 
    Worldcoin was rolled out in various countries around the
world last year by Tools for Humanity, a company co-founded by
Altman. 
    The project required users to provide their iris scans in
exchange for a digital ID and, in some countries, in exchange
for free cryptocurrency.
