    Italy will present measures to curb its 2017 budget deficit

    Intesa Sanpaolo denied on Thursday it was preparing an 
all-share offer for Assicurazioni Generali after shares in the 
Italian insurer rose in response to speculation that a bid was 
on its way. It was not clear if the bank had decided to drop its 
interest in Generali completely or whether it was looking at
