PolyMet rises on new JV to develop Minnesota mining projects

** Shares of copper miner PolyMet Mining Corp POM.TO up as
much as 11.58% at C$3.95
** Co and Teck Resources Ltd TECKb.TO to form a joint
venture to develop their Minnesota copper and nickel mining

** Both companies have agreed to fund the JV with an initial
budget of $170 mln for permitting and engineering work
** The new company will be known as NewRange Copper Nickel
LLC and the two proposed mines aim to produce metals used to
make electric vehicles and other green technologies
** Stock up ~24% YTD, as of last close
