** Shares of the sugar manufacturer  PONS.NS  rise as much
as 17.30% to 144.40 rupees, their highest since March 1
    ** Co on Friday said its Sept-qtr net profit doubled, helped

    ** About 13,187 shares change hands in the first hour,
compared with 30-day average of 1,901
    ** Stock down 10.2% this year, as of last close
