** German carmakers drag European auto stocks lower after President Donald Trump said on Friday that Washington would raise tariffs on European cars and trucks
** Trump said the tariffs would increase this week from the previously agreed 15%, saying the bloc had not complied with its trade deal with the United States
** "The increase in tariffs represents a negative factor for European manufacturers. What remains to be monitored is when the measure will actually come into force," broker Intermonte says
** The STOXX index for auto makers and parts .SXAP down 1.2% after earlier falling as much as 1.7%, making it the biggest decliner in the region. The broader STOXX 600 .STOXX is flat
** Porsche P911_p.DE, Mercedes MBGn.DE, BMW BMWG.DE and Volkswagen VOWG.DE down 0.6-1.7%
** Elsewhere, Stellantis STLAM.MI up 0.2%, reversing earlier losses, while Volvo VOLCARb.ST is down 0.2% and Ferrari RACE.MI edges 0.6% lower
