BERLIN, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Porsche P911_p.DE CEO candidate Michael Leiters is familiar with the company and has experience in dealing with difficulties, shareholder DWS said on Friday, welcoming the planned changover at the helm of the beleaguered carmaker.
"With the former McLaren manager Michael Leiters, someone is returning to Porsche who is not only familiar with the company, but who has already been confronted with difficult situations in other positions," DWS head of governance Hendrik Schmidt said.
"However, it is clear that even with new leadership, the old challenges must be tackled," he added, referring to difficulties in its EV portfolio and weak China sales.
