    POLITICS
    An Italian woman charged in Hungary with taking part in an
anti-fascist group's assaults on people they viewed as far-right
activists is innocent and "very strong", her father said on
Wednesday, amid protests in Italy over her treatment by
Hungarian authorities.
    
    ECONOMY
    January PMI manufacturing January data (0845 GMT).
    ISTAT releases basket of goods used to calculate inflation
in 2024 (0900 GMT) and January flash CPI and HICP data (1000
GMT).
    Transport Ministry releases January car sales data (1700
GMT).
    January state sector borrowing requirement data.
    
    COMPANIES
    POSTE ITALIANE  PST.MI 
    Italy will ensure that employment levels are maintained when
it sells a stake in the postal service, Economy Minister
Giancarlo Giorgetti told lawmakers on Wednesday.
    Giorgetti told the Chamber of Deputies the sale would be
launched when market conditions are right, and the offer would
include Italian savers as well as Poste employees.
    
    ENI  ENI.MI 
    The Italian energy group said on Wednesday it had completed
its acquisition of private-equity backed Neptune Energy.
    
    MFE-MEDIAFOREUROPE  MFEB.MI 
    Full-year Italian advertising revenue rose 2.1% in 2023, the
media group's CEO Pier Silvio Berlusconi told a news conference
on Wednesday.
    Berlusconi also said German media group ProSiebenSat.1, of
which MFE is the top shareholder, must move swiftly to extract
value from non core assets such as e-commerce and dating.
    
    GENERALI  GASI.MI 
    Italy's top insurer said on Wednesday it had completed its
acquisition of Liberty Seguros from U.S. insurer Liberty Mutual.
   
    IPO, PALINGEO
    The Italian construction firm on Wednesday filed
pre-admission documents to the Italian bourse and began
bookbuilding with an indicative price in the range of 5-7 euros
per ordinary share.

    Releases FY results, followed by conference call (1400 GMT).
