TOKYO, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Japan's SBI Holdings 8473.T
will end partnership with Taiwan's Powerchip Semiconductor
Manufacturing Corp 6770.T , but SBI will maintain its plans to
build a chip plant in Miyagi in northern Japan, the Nikkei
newspaper reported on Friday.
Powerchip, amid downturn of its semiconductor business, has
notified SBI that it would withdraw from the joint Japan
venture, and SBI has been in talks with multiple candidates for
a new partnership to build the plant, Nikkei said.
