DATA
Poland's statistics office to release flash gross domestic product (GDP) data for the second quarter at 0800. Poland's central bank to release June current account data at 1200.
INFLATION
In July the prices of the most commonly bought groceries rose by 5.7% month on month, according to a survey by UCE Research and WSB Merito University cited by Rzeczpospolita daily.
JOB CUTS
In the first half of the year alone, employers have registered the need to conduct group layoffs that will affect 80,000 people, more than during yhe 2020 pandemic year and twice as many as in the whole of 2024, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
FISCAL COUNCIL
The Ministry of Finance and Economy determined that none of the 22 candidates for the position of director of the planned Fiscal Council met the requirements and it is now conducting a second selection process, Puls Biznesu daily reported.
PKO BP
Poland's biggest bank PKO BP PKO.WA reported a 13.2% year-on-year rise in its second-quarter profit on Wednesday, driven by a higher net interest income.
