INTEREST RATES

On Wednesday, the Monetary Policy Council (MPC) will announce its decision on interest rates in Poland. Most analysts polled by Reuters expect interest rates to remain unchanged.

BUDGET

Poland's President Karol Nawrocki on Tuesday criticised the government's 2026 budget and said he was leaving all options open regarding his decision over whether to sign the budget bill.

NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Arabelle Solution, part of the French EDF group [RIC:RIC:EDFIGE.UL], will supply a turbine and related equipment for Poland's first nuclear power plant, Puls Biznesu daily reported.

CYBERATTACKS

According to Check Point, the first week of January saw a record number of cyberattack attempts targeting Poland's government sector. Each government office faced nearly 3,200 attempts on average, the highest in Europe, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.

PKO

The CEO of Poland's biggest bank by assets PKO BP PKO.WA is optimistic for the full year, but said further growth in earnings will require a shift in the business model as falling Polish interest rates squeeze lenders' results.
