CENTRAL BANK

Member of the Monetary Policy Council Ludwik Kotecki told private broadcaster TVN24 that, according to preliminary information, the National Bank of Poland (NBP)'s loss in 2025 would amount to approximately 30 billion zlotys ($8.13 billion).

POLISH SAFE PROGRAM

Poland has a one-off chance to use unrealised profit on gold reserves to finance military spending, National Bank of Poland Governor Adam Glapinski said on Wednesday, adding that the government has expressed "zero interest" in the proposal however.

THE MIDDLE EAST

There are no plans to send Polish forces to take part in the ongoing war in the Middle East, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told Rzeczpospolita daily.

SUBMARINES

Swedish company Saab SAABb.ST CEO Mikael Johansson said that the first A26-class submarine for Poland could be launched in 2030, according to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.

ALLEGRO

Poland's biggest e-commerce platform Allegro ALEP.WA said on Thursday it expected its 2026 core earnings to rise 7-10% year-on-year in its key Polish market, after its fourth-quarter result met expectations.

PKO BP

Poland's biggest lender PKO BP PKO.WA reported fourth-quarter results above estimates on Thursday, as lower provisions for legal risks related to its Swiss franc mortgage portfolio and higher net fee income outweighed a decline in interest income.
