On Friday, the statistical office published April inflation data for Poland. According to the preliminary reading, inflation accelerated to 3.2% from 3.0% in March.

CRYPTOCURRENCIES

On Friday, the Polish parliament will vote on four bills regulating the cryptocurrency market. These include two parliamentary bills and proposals from the government and the president.

This will be the third attempt to regulate this market; two previous government bills were vetoed by President Karol Nawrocki.

U.S. TROOPS IN POLAND

The Pentagon has canceled plans to temporarily deploy 4,000 U.S.-based troops to Poland, two U.S. officials said, a surprise decision that renews questions about President Donald Trump's expected troop cuts in Europe.

PKO Bank Polski PKO.WA aims to keep its 2026 net interest income close to last year's levels despite lower interest rates, finance chief Krzysztof Dresler said on Thursday.

POLAND'S GDP

Poland's first-quarter economic growth was lower than expected, its statistics office reported on Thursday, with geopolitical shocks and a weak economic situation in the euro zone contributing to the slowdown, analysts said.
