PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
The candidate from Poland's ruling Civic Coalition (KO), Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, is in the lead ahead of a May 18 presidential election, with support of 32.6%, according to a poll by IBRiS for Onet news website published on Thursday.
Karol Nawrocki, the candidate supported by the main opposition party, Law and Justice (PiS), has 26.4% support.
GDP
On Thursday at 0800, the statistical office will publish the first estimate of Poland's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter of 2025. Analysts polled by Reuters expect GDP growth in this period to be 3.1% year-on-year.
INFLATION
On Thursday at 0800, Poland's statistical office will publish data on inflation in April. According to the preliminary reading, it was 4.2% year-on-year.
ELECTION INTERFERENCE
Poland said on Wednesday it had uncovered what could be an attempt to interfere in its presidential election campaign using advertisements on Facebook that may have been financed from abroad, an assertion the social media platform disputed.

PZU PZU.WA, Poland's leading insurer, reported on Thursday a 40% year-on-year rise in its first-quarter net profit.
Net profit for the quarter reached 1.76 billion zlotys ($465.52 million), exceeding the 1.54 billion zlotys forecast by analysts in a company-compiled consensus.
KGHM
Poland's biggest copper miner, KGHM Polska Miedz KGH.WA, reported a 60% jump in first-quarter adjusted core profit on Wednesday to 2.49 billion zlotys ($659.55 million), driven by higher metal prices and increased international sales volumes.
