RAILWAY TRACK BLAST
An explosion that damaged a Polish railway track on a route to Ukraine was an "unprecedented act of sabotage", Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Monday as he vowed to catch those responsible for an incident he said could have ended in tragedy.
SUBMARINES
A team appointed by the Minister of Defence is expected to prepare a recommendation by Friday on the selection of a partner from whom Poland will purchase submarines. The Polish government is scheduled to address this issue on November 25, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
NEW SPEAKER OF THE SEJM
During the parliamentary session beginning on Tuesday, Polish MPs will elect a new speaker of the chamber, and according to the coalition agreement, this will be the current deputy speaker, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, co-chair of the New Left, the PAP agency reported.
EC FORECASTS
The latest European Commission forecasts indicate that Poland will be among EU countries with the highest economic growth, but also the highest budget deficit, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reported.
