** Shares of gene editing company Precision BioSciences
DTIL.O rise 3.7% to $12.66
** DTIL says the U.K. health regulator cleared privately
held partner iECURE's application to expand an early-mid-stage
study testing its gene therapy to treat infants with Ornithine
transcarbamylase deficiency (OTCD)
** OTCD is caused by a genetic defect in a liver enzyme
responsible for breakdown and excretion of ammonia
** Precision has licensed its proprietary gene editing
platform to iECURE to develop the candidate, ECUR-506, which is
designed to supply a functional OTC gene and potentially correct
the disease
** Including session gains, stock down 61.2% in the last 12
months
