Prelude Therapeutics rises on FDA nod to start human trials for cancer drug

** Shares of drug developer  PRLD.O  up ~2.1% at $17.55
    ** U.S. FDA accepts co’s application to conduct human trials
for its drug candidate - PRT2527
    ** PRT2527 works by limiting the activity of CDK9, a protein
that plays an integral role in cancer development 
    ** Co expects to start an early-stage study of PRT2527 by
year-end to evaluate escalating doses of intravenous PRT2527 as
a monotherapy in patients with selected solid tumors such as

    ** Pre-clinical data on PRT2527 showed that it depletes
certain proteins that lead to cancer growth and proliferation,
ultimately killing them
