India's real estate stocks fall as RBI holds key rates steady

** Real estate stocks .NIFTYREAL fall 2.6% as RBI keeps key rates unchanged at 5.5% with "neutral" stance

** Rate-sensitive index was down 1% ahead of policy decision

** While markets largely expected RBI to hold rates, bets for a cut had increased in last few days amid U.S. tariff threats

** "A rate cut leading to lower interest rate environment would have particularly boosted the affordable housing segment, which has been under considerable pressure in recent years," says Anuj Puri, chairman of ANAROCK Group

** Prestige Estates PREG.NS, DLF DLF.NS lose 4% and 3%, respectively; top losers on NIFTYREAL

** Phoenix Mills PHOE.NS, Godrej Properties GODR.NS shed 2.6% and 2.1%, respectively

** YTD, NIFTYREAL loses 16%
