UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Nov 11

Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.61%.

* STANDARD CHARTERED: Standard Chartered STAN.L said on Tuesday it has appointed Jim Wang as the chief executive officer of its China Securities unit.

* SCG: British telecom and cloud services provider SCG is exploring a sale at a valuation of as much as 800 million pounds ($1.07 billion), Bloomberg News reported on Monday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

* OIL: Oil prices dipped in Asian trade on Tuesday as oversupply concerns outweighed uncertainty over the impact of U.S. sanctions on Russian oil majors Rosneft and Lukoil and optimism over progress toward reopening the U.S. government.

* COPPER : Copper prices climbed on Tuesday, as a potential resolution to the U.S. federal government shutdown lifted market sentiment, while fresh production data reinforced expectations of tighter supply next year.

* GOLD: Gold extended gains to a near three-week high on Tuesday, helped by growing expectations of another U.S. Federal Reserve interest rate cut in December and signs of an end to the U.S. government shutdown.

* FTSE 100: UK's FTSE 100 touched a record closing high on Monday as global stocks climbed on signs that a historic U.S. government shutdown could be nearing its end, while Diageo surged after it appointed a former Tesco boss as its CEO.

 UK CONSUMERS: Spending from British consumers cooled last month as they waited to see how Black Friday deals and the government's budget later this month, widely expected to contain  tax hikes, would pan out, surveys showed on Tuesday.
