Sept 3 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 2000 GMT on Wednesday:

** Global miner Anglo American AAL.L is selling off its remaining stake in Valterra Platinum VALJ.J, worth around $2.4 billion, it said, marking its full exit from its former subsidiary. nL4N3UQ13F

** Italian state-backed bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS) BMPS.MI has secured 38.5% of rival Mediobanca MDBI.MI, bourse data showed, exceeding the minimum ownership threshold targeted under its hostile bid. nL8N3UQ1BJ

** EU antitrust regulators are set to pause their investigation into Abu Dhabi state oil giant ADNOC's 14.7-billion-euro ($17 billion) bid for German chemicals company Covestro 1COVG.DE, a person with direct knowledge of the matter said. nL1N3UQ0DH

** Britain's Hochschild Mining HOCM.L said it had signed a letter of intent to sell its Chile-based Volcan gold project operator Tiernan Gold Corp to Canada's Railtown Capital RLTp.V. nL4N3UQ0YV

** Israeli cyber security firm Cato Networks said it was buying cyber startup Aim Security, its first ever acquisition, and raising another $50 million in a private funding round. nL8N3UQ0L9

** MFE-MediaForEurope  has secured a stake of above 70% in ProSiebenSat.1  following its takeover bid for the German broadcaster, sources close to the matter told Reuters. nL8N3UQ0JE

** Australia's Steadfast Group has strengthened its U.S. footprint after acquiring a majority stake in MGA and wholesaler Novum Underwriting Partners LLC. nL6N3UP12Z

** Global Indemnity subsidiary Penn-America Underwriters has completed the acquisition of Sayata, an AI-enabled digital distribution marketplace for commercial insurance. nL6N3UP110

** Skyward Specialty Insurance Group has agreed a $555 million deal to acquire 100% of Apollo Group Holdings Limited from Alchemy, the Lloyd's insurer's management, employees and other strategic investors. nL6N3UP128
