UK's Prospex Energy jumps on production update at Italian gas plant

** Shares of Prospex Energy Plc PXEN.L rise as much as
22.6% to 9.50p, their highest since May 22
** The investment firm, which is focused on European gas and
power projects, says gas production at Podere Maiar-1 (PM-1)
plant in Italy will start next month
** Co says PM-1 obtained all final approvals for production
following completion of safety checks by Italy's environment and
energy security department and local fire department
** PXEN stock on course for best day since Oct 27, 2010, if
gains hold
** Stock down 47%, YTD
