** Shares of London-listed PureTech Health PRTC.L jump
5.9% at 172.4p after company's lung disease drug met main and
secondary goals of a mid-stage trial
** Deupirfenidone (LYT-100), a potential treatment for
idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), slowed lung function
decline in people with IPF
** LYT-100 was also generally well-tolerated with favorable
adverse event profile at both doses of 550 mg three times a day
and 825 mg three times a day studied in trial
** "These data are remarkable, particularly for a
monotherapy, and – if supported by a Phase 3 trial – would
represent a step change in the treatment of IPF," said CEO
Bharatt Chowrira
** IPF affects the tissue surrounding the air sacs in the
lungs due to a build-up of scar tissue, making them unable to
transport oxygen into the bloodstream effectively
** PRTC shares, as of last close, down ~16.17% YTD
