PZU eyes September talks with Pekao over feasibility of planned tie-up
PZU eyes September talks with Pekao over feasibility of planned tie-up Aug 20 (Reuters) - Poland's top insurer PZU PZU.WA plans to meet with Bank Pekao PEO.WA, likely in September, to assess whether the conditions for their planned merger and group reorganisation can be met, as the country's current laws prevent it from proceeding, CEO Bogdan Benczak said.
PZU is working on alternative scenarios if the necessary decisions outlined in the reorganization term sheet are not taken, Benczak told a press conference after the insurer reported its second-quarter results on Thursday.
