Australia's Queensland Pacific Metals rises on A$3 mln grant award

** Shares of Queensland Pacific Metals  QPM.AX  rise as much
as 6.8% to A$0.047
    ** Critical metals producer says it has received A$3 mln
(~$2 mln) grant under Frontier Gas Exploration program from
Queensland state government
    ** Says grant will fund a trial program of new wells
targeting the Fort Cooper Coal Measures, known to contain
significant quantities of gas
    ** About 4.5 mln shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average volume of 3.3 mln shares
    ** Stock down 20% this year, as of last close
