** Quantum Computing QUBT.O shares surging 35% to $12.50 on Fri and hit their highest since January after the company reported quarterly results including higher rev

** Shares of D-Wave Quantum QBTS.N jumped 8%, while Rigetti Computing RGTI.O rose 1.2%

** Quantum Computing late Thurs reported a 44% leap in quarterly rev for the period ended March 31

** Short interest in QUBT stood at about 19% of its share float, as of May 16, per LSEG data

** Even with the day's sharp move up, QUBT is down about 24% YTD compared with a roughly 1% decline in the Nasdaq composite .IXIC in that period
