POLL
The largest grouping in Poland's ruling coalition, the
centrist Civic Coalition (KO) would come first in a general
election with 33.5% of votes, according to an IBRiS poll for
Rzeczpospolita daily. The nationalist opposition law and Justice
(PiS) party is second with 29.3%, while the far-right
Confederation party is third with 11.6%.
TALGO
Poland's state-owned investment fund PFR has raised its bid
for Spanish train maker Talgo's TLGO.MC , Polish newspaper
Dziennik Gazeta Prawna (DGP) reported on Wednesday.
CONSUMER LOANS
In Poland there is an increasing number of people suing
banks to receive loans with no interest or other charges because
their loan agreements had clauses with errors, Dziennik Gazeta
Prawna reported. The European Court of justice will rule on this
issue on Thursday, the newspaper reported.
UKRAINIANS
Poles are becoming more and more critical of Ukrainians
living in Poland according to a survey carried out by the
University of Warsaw, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
INVESTMENT PLAN
Economists have reacted to Prime Minister Donald Tusk's
announcement that there will be over 650 billion zlotys of
investment in sectors including transport infrastructure and
energy by saying that the country needs more investment,
especially private investment, Rzeczpospolita reported.
LOT
Michal Fijol has returned to the role of chief executive of
Polish flag-carrier LOT, Rzeczpospolita reported.
RAFAKO
Poland's Industrial Development Agency, is working on a
financial model to enable a continuation of functioning of
industrial boiler maker Rafako RFK.WA , Rzeczpospolita daily
reported. Meanwhile, the company which filed for bankruptcy
last year, has already started staff layoffs, according to the
newspaper.
OFFSHORE WIND
Northland Power, Canadian utility that is a partner of
Poland's Orlen in offshore wind project on the Baltic Sea, would
be interested in analysing new "good projects" in Poland, Chief
Executive Officer Christine Healy said, Puls Biznesu reported.
