The following factors could affect Italian markets on Tuesday.

    POLITICS
    According to an IPSOS poll published on Sunday, the
popularity of Giorgia Meloni's government has fallen 10 points
in a year, from 54% to 44%, and the Prime Minister's popularity
has fallen from 58% to 44%. However, Meloni's Brothers of Italy
party is still Italy's largest party, with 29.3% of the
consensus, up from 26% in the last election in September 2022.
    
    The number of migrants disembarked in Italy between 1
January and 29 December 2023 was 155,754, compared to 103,846 in
2022 and 67,040 in 2021, according to data from the Ministry of
the Interior.   
       
    The Italian Chamber of Deputies on Friday passed the
government's tax-cutting 2024 budget, giving parliament's final
approval to the package which becomes law just ahead of an
end-year deadline.
        
    ECONOMY

    Transport Ministry releases December car sales data (1700

    POSTE ITALIANE  PST.MI , RAI WAY  RWAY.MI 
    Italy is considering selling stakes in Poste Italiane
 PST.MI , railway company Ferrovie and TV towers operator Rai
Way  RWAY.MI , Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said in an
interview on Sunday.
    "The dossiers are many and if some, like Ferrovie, require
regulatory decisions and adjustments, others may be easier, like
Poste or Rai Way or others," Giorgetti was quoted as saying by
the financial daily Il Sole-24 Ore.
    
    CNH INDUSTRIAL  CNHI.MI 
    de-listed from Euronext Milan as of Tuesday.
    
    NEXI  NEXII.MI 
    On Friday, Cassa di Risparmio di Bolzano (Sparkasse),
Civibank and the Nexi Group signed an agreement to transfer the
merchant acquiring activities to Nexi and to establish a
partnership for the exclusive placement of Nexi's merchant
acquiring products through the Sparkasse Group's sales network.
    
    DIARY
    Rome, energy authority ARERA expected to releases "bill
updating" for gas consumers in 'Best Protection' in December
2023 (1700 GMT).
