    POLITICS
    Kenya's president endorsed Italy's plan for closer
cooperation with Africa in an interview with Reuters on Tuesday,
saying it was evidence that Europe was taking the continent
seriously despite criticism over the limited initial funding.
    
    ECONOMY
    ISTAT releases December unemployment rate flash data (0900
GMT); Q4 wage inflation data (1000 GMT); November industry sales
data (1100 GMT).
    
    COMPANIES
    TELECOM ITALIA (TIM)  TLIT.MI  
    Italy's Treasury and KKR  KKR.N  have agreed the terms of
the bid to be presented by KKR for TIM's submarine cable unit
Sparkle, three sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on
Tuesday.
    
    UNICREDIT  CRDI.MI , POPOLARE DI SONDRIO  BPSI.MI  
    Italy's Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti sought
clarification from UniCredit CEO Andrea Orcel over the lender's
potential interest in Popolare di Sondrio in a meeting held last
week, two people close to the matter said.
    
    GENERALI  GASI.MI  
    Italy's top insurer will launch a 500 million euro ($540
million) share buyback programme in 2024, it said on Tuesday, as
it works on a new strategic plan to be unveiled early next year.
    
    PIRELLI  PIRC.MI   
    Leading tyre manufacturers Pirelli, Continental  CONG.DE ,
Michelin  MICP.PA  and Nokian Tyres were raided by EU antitrust
regulators on Tuesday as part of an investigation into a
possible cartel, sending their shares down.
    
    RAI WAY  RWAY.MI  
    Clearway Capital Partners has a stake in the Italian
broadcasting towers company, the activist investor said on
Tuesday, after a report about its investment sent shares in the
Milan-listed company higher.
    
    SAIPEM  SPMI.MI  
    Shares in the Italian energy contractor plunged by 12% on
Tuesday after damage caused by an incident involving one of its
pipe-laying vessels and a decision by Saudi Aramco  2222.SE  to
drop its oil capacity expansion plans.
    
    ENEL  ENEI.MI  
    Fitch on Tuesday confirmed its long-term rating at "BBB+"
and its short-term rating at "F-2", leaving the outlook
"stable".
    
    SAFILO  SFLG.MI  
    The eyewear maker said its preliminary sales in Q4 rose 1.7%
year-on-year at constant foreign exchange rates to 238.7 million
euros, and full-year revenues were in line with 2022 results
despite the continuing weakness of the North American market.
