UK Stocks-Factors to watch on April 15

April 15 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening up on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.1%.

* BP: Algeria has granted BP BP.L a new prospecting authorization in the country's eastern basin, the hydrocarbons regulator ALNAFT said, as the government seeks to boost exploration in underexplored regions.

* THAMES WATER: The board of UK water regulator Ofwat is split over whether to approve a rescue deal offered by the creditors of Thames Water, Bloomberg News reported.

* OIL: Oil prices were mixed with Brent futures up and U.S. futures down amid uncertainty over crude supply from the key Middle East producing region as the Strait of Hormuz remains mainly shut.

* GOLD: Gold prices inched lower after hitting a one-month high earlier in the session, as the dollar regained some ground and prospects of another round of peace talks between the United States and Iran lifted risk appetite.

* METAL: Copper prices extended gains to hover near a six-week high, as the prospect of renewed U.S.-Iran peace talks spurred hopes of a de-escalation in the Middle East conflict.

* UK'S FTSE 100: UK's main stock indexes closed higher, lifted by industrials and financials, as hopes of U.S.-Iran peace talks boosted sentiment.
