Rathbones Group Plc (“Rathbones” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Stevenson as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 December 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Brian has been nominated by Investec pursuant to the terms of the relationship agreement entered into in connection with the combination of Rathbones and Investec Wealth & Investment (“IW&I”) in September 2023 (the “Relationship Agreement”). Under the Relationship Agreement, Investec is entitled to nominate two Non-Executive Directors to the Board of Rathbones for so long as it holds more than 20% of the Company’s issued share capital.
Brian brings extensive banking and financial services experience, with particular expertise in risk, audit and governance. He joined the Board of Investec in September 2016 as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director and became Chair in April 2018. In June 2021, he also joined the Investec Group board as a Non-Executive Director and retired in August 2025. Outside Investec, Brian has held a number of non-executive and board positions, including appointments with The Agricultural Bank of China, Deutsche Bank Nederland N.V. and Westpac Europe Limited.
The Company announces that Henrietta Baldock, who was nominated to the Board by Investec in September 2023 pursuant to the Relationship Agreement, will step down as a Non-Executive Director on 22 October 2026. As previously announced, Sarah Gentleman will step down from the Board on 31 October 2026, having served as a Non-Executive Director since 2015. Sarah was appointed Senior Independent Director in 2022 and served as Chair of the Remuneration Committee from June 2017 to August 2023. The Company is also pleased to announce that regulatory approval has been received for the appointment of Angela Seymour-Jackson as Senior Independent Director and Non-Executive Director.
