The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq rose on Tuesday as most megacap stocks gained, with
focus now moving to key inflation data later this week that could provide more
clarity on the extent of the Federal Reserve's expected interest rate cut on
Sept. 18.  .N 
    
    At 11:34 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.5% at
40,639.63. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.17% at 5,480.53 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.41% at 16,954.15.
