April 23 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Thursday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.51%.
* BP: UK pension investor Nest plans to oppose re-election of BP BP.L Chair Albert Manifold at the company's annual meeting on Thursday, it said on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a lockout at BP's refinery in Whiting, Indiana, enters its second month as contract talks between the British oil major and hundreds of union workers remain deadlocked.
* INTERTEK: Matt Peltz, the son of activist investor Nelson Peltz, has built a stake in British product testing firm Intertek ITRK.L, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.
* STANDARD LIFE: A consortium led by CVC Capital Partners CVC.AS and Prudential Financial PRU.N has emerged as a frontrunner to acquire a stake worth over 1 billion pounds ($1.35 billion) in Standard Life's SDLF.L pension risk transfer (PRT) business, the Financial Times said.
* CREDIT LENDING: Paresh Raja, the founder of collapsed mortgage firm Market Financial Solutions, is facing a 1.3 billion pounds ($1.8 billion) lawsuit in Britain from creditors alleging he breached his fiduciary duties, Bloomberg News reported.
* AI: Bank of England and other financial services representatives on Wednesday said the sector was prepared for developments around Anthropic's Mythos artificial intelligence model and other emerging frontier AI models.
* EX-DIVS: Rolls-Royce Holdings RR.L, BAE Systems BAES.L, Fresnillo FRES.L, and Legal & General Group LGEN.L will trade without entitlement to their latest dividend payout on Thursday.
* COMMODITIES: Oil prices extended their gains on Thursday, while gold fell, and copper slid.
* FTSE: London's FTSE 100 closed slightly lower on Wednesday, with industrials and heavyweight financials weighing, while investors monitored the fragile Middle East truce and assessed domestic inflation data.
