France will not yield to Trump threat on wine tariffs, Macron says PARIS, June 15 (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday his country will not yield to U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to apply 100% tariffs on French wine unless Paris eliminates its digital tax on American tech giants.
"This digital tax, decided by Europeans, implemented by several countries, is part of our law," Macron said in an interview on French TV channel TF1. "It's not the United States that decides on the Europeans' law."
