** The pan-European sub-index for defence and aeroespace STOXX .SXPARO is down 10.2%

** Germany's Rheinmetall RHMG.DE falls 16.1%, Hensoldt HAGG.DE 15.8%, Renk R3NK.DE 15.5%, MTU Aero Engines MTXGn.DE 10.9%

** Sweden's SAAB SAABb.ST slumps 18%; France's Thales TCFP.PA falls 12.9%, Dassault Aviation AM.PA around 9%

** Italy's Leonardo LDOF.MI has been halted, last seen down 13.2%
