European defence stocks climb after Israel strikes Iran

** Shares in European defence companies rise after Israel's military strike on Iran, dramatically escalating tensions in the Middle East

** Iran had launched about 100 drones towards Israeli territory in retaliation, which Israel is working to intercept, Israeli military spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin said

** German defense companies Hensoldt HAGG.DE Rheinmetall RHMG.DE, Renk R3NK.DE are up between about 3%-4%

** France's Thales TCFP.PA, Dassault Aviation AM.PA up about 2%-2.4%

** Sweden's Saab SAABb.ST, Norway's Kongsberg Gruppen KOG.OL, and Italy's Leonardo LDOF.MI rise about 2%
