** Shares of French laser technology firm Lumibird LBIRD.PA rise 4% after its Swedish unit signed a deal with Rheinmetall Air Defence for its VIDAR laser rangefinders
** The contract, which spans 2026-2028, involves equipping Skyranger 30 air-defence systems to be supplied to the Netherlands
** Analysts from Portzamparc say the deal is likely modest in size, at about 1 million euros ($1.2 million), but it "illustrates Lumibird's positioning as a key European supplier of advanced laser designation systems"
** The Skyranger 30 programme is considered to be "one of the best platforms in counter-drone warfare, with substantial future potential for Rheinmetall", the brokerage adds
** Including Tuesday's rise, the stock has gained 13.2% YTD
