EUROPEAN OPPORTUNITIES TRUST PLC

 

The Board of River Global notes the announcement released today by European
Opportunities Trust PLC ("European Opportunities") concerning the initiation
of a strategic review of the future of that company, including a review of its
investment management arrangements with Devon Equity Management Limited, a
wholly owned subsidiary of River Global.

 

River Global has presented an outline proposal for a reconstruction of
European Opportunities that would include an opportunity for a full cash exit
at close to NAV and an opportunity for European Opportunities' shareholders to
roll over their holding into an open-ended investment company to be managed by
River Global with a similar investment policy to that of the Company.

 

The Board confirms that it is in constructive dialogue with European
Opportunities and its advisers. A further announcement will be made in due
course.
